Stacey Yvonne Abrams is a politician, lawyer, and novelist who served as minority leader of the Georgia House of Representatives from 2011 to 2017. She is running for governor because she has a vision for Georgia where equality fosters prosperity & everyone has the chance to thrive. I am doing everything I can from afar to help my home state make history by electing the first black female governor. A poll released recently by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and WSB shows Stacey in a dead heat with Brian Kemp (Abrams: 46%—Kemp 47%)—and yep Kemp is the one who is working to suppress the vote by holding up to 53,000 voter registrations, most of them Black voters. And it’s not the first time. (WHY is that legal!!!??)

Stacey talks about this in the Meet the Press segment below.  Click here to find out how you can help Stacey’s campaign wherever you are.

My thoughts and prayers go out to my hometown, Albany, GA, and other areas of southwest Georgia, Florida and South Carolina that are suffering in the wake of Hurricane Michael.
